Welcome To
The Morgan State House

Voted “Best in the Capital/Saratoga Region,” The Morgan State House honors the European tradition. We cater to discriminating travelers looking for a unique experience in an elegant urban setting.

The Morgan State House is located on beautiful Washington Park, designed by Fredrick Law Olmsted, the celebrated architect of many of the world’s most beautiful public parks, including Central Park and Prospect Park in NYC.

The Washington Park Historic District, lovely in every season, is the gateway to Albany’s businesses, Capitol Building, medical centers, universities, museums and entertainment venues.

Our inn is located in a 1884 New York style mansion and was restored to fulfill a niche that did not previously exist in the Capital District.

We provide professional service in an atmosphere that is immaculate, comfortable, secure and restful.  Our guests include business and political leaders, celebrities, and upscale travelers looking for unique accommodations.  Understanding the needs of our guests is our top priority.

“We had an experience like no other. This is our home away from home when we visit Albany.”

Historic Elegance

The stunning parlor floor is open and available to all guests 24 hours/day. Here you will find beautiful architectural details, comfortable seating areas, a large and sunny kitchen stocked with complimentary beverages and snacks and a roaring fire in cold weather months.

In summer, our secluded English garden provides a tranquil sanctuary in the heart of the city. Enjoy breakfast surrounded by lovely perennial blossoms or simply relax with a beverage.

Our spacious guestrooms are beautifully appointed in a classic eclectic style with private en suite bathrooms, premium bath products, plush robes and towels. Our beds are our signature. Down comforters, pillows and soft cotton sheets provide the ultimate night’s rest.

The Inn accommodates all business needs from in room WiFi, copying, printing, faxing to our boardroom that can accommodate up to twelve people.

We enjoy the very best location in the city of Albany at the gateway to historic Washington Park. Just step outside our doors and walk to quaint Lark Street, Albany’s “Village in the City”.  You’ll find a unique blend of great restaurants, cafés, gift shops, museums and entertainment.
